I didn't live far from Magnolia Bakery when I lived in New York City. My apartment was just off Bleeker Street on Sullivan. It was a nice walk and one that I convinced myself offset the unhealthy characteristics of the luscious Magnolia Bakery cupcake. My favorite was vanilla on vanilla. I started smelling them about a block away. I always bought two. One to eat there on a bench across from the shop and one to take home that I acted like I would save for much later. They were a part of my NYC. You know something I just realized. I never saw a flibbertigibbet in New York.
