Sometimes it's just simple.
I still have my pencil in hand and doing sketches. When I'm painting fruits, whether cherries, apples or pears, I often tend to focus on their stems. Some time I exaggerate them to the point that if the rest of the fruit wasn't present you might not be able to tell what it was.
