ACEO DAY 221 THE 2012 IDITAROD BEGINS TODAY

The 2012 Iditarod begins today.  Teams will head out from Anchorage, AK today with Ray Redington Jr. first out at 10:00 Anchorage time.  My friends, The Alaskans, favor Lance Mackey.  He is number 17 out wearing #18 bib, heading out at 10:35.  His will be the team that I'll be pulling for.

"Iditarod: Toughest Race on Earth" is available on Netflix.  Lance Mackey along with many of the other mushers can be seen there in the 2008 race.  It was a great adventure to watch and will make this years race one you'll want to follow.

Today is 25º F, calm winds, light snow with a 70% chance of precipitation in Anchorage.  Each of the teams is starting out with 16 dogs  Most will come in with fewer.  There are 66 teams that will start.

Ok Alaska, I will enjoy with you.  Let the adventure begin........
